Does your faith give you peace?

I strongly believe that a spiritual life can grant you peace of mind.

I have witnessed dozens of people go from pain, to surrender, and end with freedom just by committing themselves to believing in something.

The reality is, that in the end it doesn’t matter if you are a Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Santeria, Spiritualist, Rastafarian, Atheist, or other denomination. One of the most important questions to ask yourself is ‘Does my faith give me peace and make me a better person?’ That is part of the reason that we each choose to believe in something, or someone. We want to feel that we are guided, protected, loved. We search for teachers that match our values, are good examples of human potential and teach things that make sense to us intellectually.

In those moments of confusion, depression or grief, your faith should be your backbone and light at the end of the tunnel. If it isn’t then why do you follow it? Maybe, it isn’t having a reassuring effect on you because you’re not actively practicing. Do you need to pray more, meditate, visit the temple, go to seminars, or just hang with fellow believers?

“there is an inner core common to all religions: the universal teachings of morality and charity, of a disciplined and pure mind full of love, compassion, goodwill and tolerance.”
